AR Reading Goals for 2nd Six Weeks

 

1.     I will read independently for at least 30 minutes each day.  (15 minutes at school, 15 minutes at home)

  1. I will earn at least _______ Accelerated Reader points with at least 80% comprehension.  (All tests  must be completed by 11/04/05)
  2. I will complete a book project about a non-fiction animal book of my choice.
  3. I will complete three blocks on my grid, making a tic-tac-toe pattern.

 

Second Six Weeks Book Report

Due Date:  November 4, 2005

 

  1. Read a non-fiction AR book about an animal. Complete an AR test.
  2. As you read this book, write at least 5 factual questions about the animal to attach to the poster you will be creating.
  3. On a full sheet of poster board draw and cut out the shape of the animal you read about. 
  4. Color the animal, unless your poster board is the color of the animal already.
  5. Write the name of the animal on the front of your poster board. Also write the title and author of the book or books that you used to write your questions.
  6. Choose at least 10 factual questions about your animal to attach to the poster.  At least 5 of these questions should come from the AR book that you read.  You may use other sources to write the remaining questions.

 

Your questions should follow this format:

  • Fold a piece of paper about the size of an index card in half. 
  • On the top of the paper, write the question.
  • Then on the inside of the paper, write the answer to the question.
  • Lastly, glue the bottom of the folded paper onto your animal cut out.
