How you can help your student learn:

·                   Encourage your student by placing artwork on your refrigerator, wall, etc.

·                   Have your student wear “art friendly” clothing on art day, so they do not ruin a favorite outfit with paint, clay, etc.

·                   Ask what they learned in art on their art day, ask if they can explain or demonstrate.

·                   Take your child to the Frist Center for Art in downtown Nashville and other galleries around town. They can get a better understanding of history, mediums, and the artists.

·                   Enroll them in extra art activities.

·                   Remember artists are from all walks of life, architects, advertisers, fashion design, furniture design, movie set designers, computer graphic artists, etc. Encourage your child to be aware of how these artists contribute to society.
